About Us The Shoreline Chamber was founded in August of 1976 by over 100 charter members who wanted to establish a voice for local businesses dedicated to a strong community. The Chamber's mission is to promote commerce in the greater Shoreline area by providing value to its members through business education, networking opportunities, and effective representation. Since the Chamber's establishment, it has endeavored to be the primary agent influencing and advancing the economic, social, civic and cultural aspects of life in Shoreline through free and competitive enterprise. Our members have many opportunities to discover new markets for their businesses by networking with other members at General Membership luncheon meetings held on the second Wednesday of each month. These luncheons feature speakers and topics of interest with a significant degree of influence in the business community. We also offer a monthly Business After Hours at a local member business with the host providing appetizers for our members. This is a good way to meet other members and network in a more informal setting. The Chamber is also involved in many community events and sponsors an annual fundraising auction for Dollars for Scholars. The auction takes place in November with the awards to deserving local students being given out at our May luncheon. Committees form to work on these special events along with on-going committees such as the Ambassador's, Communication, Membership and many others. The Economic Development and Government Affairs Committees meet monthly and welcome new members. The Shoreline Chamber continually seeks to educate and encourage business owners that involvement in the Chamber helps grow business and a strong Community. We are dedicated to supporting our members in many ways, and continually seek members who will join us in making this Chamber of Commerce a pillar in the Shoreline community. In addition we have developed a Green Business Program that provides some direction to businesses that wish to increase profits, reduce overhead cost and increase efficiencies while making changes that reduce their impact on the environment.
